West Cork Tuning : Noel Redding

Noel Redding, the bass player with The Jimi Hendrix Experience, died in May of this year. During the group's three year existence it recorded some of the most innovative rock music of the late Sixties and Redding played a key role in the group's success, contributing with Hendrix in writing and arranging songs. 'West Coast Tuning' is a collection of highlights from three live appearances which Noel Redding made in 1998 and 1999 in San Francisco and Los Angeles. On these dates he was accompanied by California-based 3.05 AM, a rocking seven-piece band whose members were fans of the original Experience and jumped at the opportunity to play with the legendary bassist. The set includes storming versions of four Jimi Hendrix Experience classics, 'Stone Free', 'Hey Joe', 'Come On Pt. 1' and 'Can You See Me'. On other tracks Redding revisits his rock 'n' roll and r&b roots with such classics as 'Lawdy Miss Clawdy' and 'Not Fade Away' as well playing three of his favourites from the Sixties, 'Rain', 'She Belongs To Me' and 'Sorrow'.
