The Ophelias

Leslie Medford & The Ophelias

One of the San Francisco Bay Area's top talents in the late 1980's and early 1990's, multi-instrumentalist, singer / songwriter Leslie Medford is best known as the leader of The Ophelias. Ranked as one of the best local groups in their day, they eventually signed with major English independent Rough Trade Records, where they landed 4 straight top 10 National College Radio album releases, with much critical and international acclaim.

Heavily featured on all of the Ophelias' back catalog material are guitarists David Immergluck (currently playing in The Counting Crows) and New Zealand's Keith Dion (Producer, band leader for Noel Redding from The Jimi Hendrix Experience 1997-99 and Producer for Arthur Lee and Love's latest release "Electrically Speaking" amongst other ventures).

Never before released on CD, nor available in any format in The UK and Europe, all of the Ophelias back catalog is now available for re-release, and also features the studio engineering skills of Counting Crows' songwriter and rhythm guitarist David Bryson.

English influenced Psychedelic Folk Rock at it's finest - all with a Shakespearean twist.
